The drilling device allows a relatively narrow cable conduit to be drilled parallel to a wall using a drilling head attached to a flexible drive shaft (10). The drilling head incorporates a permanent magnet (3) cooperating with an external control magnet (4) within a guidance device (2) moved across the external surface of the wall, with depth probes (50,51) monitoring the drilling depth (BT). Pref. the permanent magnet (3) is coaxial to the axis of the drilling head and is polarised in the drilling direction. USE - For drilling wall conduit for telephone or computer cable.
