Mixing chamber - for atomisation of two flowable media

When two media are finely mixed by atomisation in a chamber where one medium moves slowly and is impinged at high speed by another, the chamber only works efficiently at one optimum throughout. The novelty is that the inlet orifices for the first medium are covered by spring plates which also form a slot between the plate and the mixing chamber face, and form a slot-shaped egress. The first medium is introduced through one slot (3) and the second medium through another (4). The spring plate (7) covers the inlet (4). The atomised media leave through a slot (6) to produce a jet. USE/ADVANTAGE - The unit forms a turblence nozzle to atomise oxygen and oil for combustion or to mfr. metal powder by atomising liq. metal with liq. inert gas. The slot width and thus the throughput can be determined by the pressure of the medium as it flows through, or by an adjustor screw, with no loss in efficiency.
