Testing safety reservoir esp. reserve tank of motor vehicle - registering difference in dynamic pressure between test air stream in inner container and stream emerging from outer container

The testing procedure is applied during mfr. of safety containers for liquids and gases. esp. reserve tanks for fuel supply systems in motor vehicles and having inner (2) and outer (3) containers pref. of plastics material coupled by a through opening of small cross-section in the wall of the inner container. The procedure tests the tightness of both containers and the measurement accuracy of the opening (7) which is in the form of a nozzle. The difference in pressure between the dynamic pressure of the test air stream intriduced into the inner container and the dynamic pressure of the test air stream escaping from the outer container is registered. The dynamic pressure of the test air stream is measured at the inlet (8) of the inner container and at the outlet (13) of the outer container of the safety reservoir (1). USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple and rapid procedure satisfying supply regulations, e.g. fuel does not spill out of tank if inverted as result of accident.
