An arrangement for detecting impact damage to fibre laminated components, esp. on vehicles and aeroplanes, includes a film with numerous piezo-electric film members which are spaced apart from one another. The film members are connected to a monitoring unit (24) which picks up changes in capacitative change. The plastics film layer is pref. made of polyvinylidene fluoride. ADVANTAGE - Simple and reliable. Easy to attack the component.
