摘要 |
Metallisation of the surface of electrically insulating substrates of (in)organic material (I), esp. fibrous material, involves (a) impregnating the surface with a soln. of an oxidant (II); (b) deposition of an electroconductive polymer (III) on the surface from the gas phase; and (c) metallisation of the activated surface in aq. medium. Pref. (II) contains O cpds., e.g. peroxo acids and salts, peroxoborates, peroxochromates, perchlorates, permanganate or FeCl3. (III) is pref. a polymer of a 5-membered heterocyclic cpd., pref. a pyrrole or thiophene. Metallisation is carried out by electroless chemical metallisation or by electrolytic deposition in aq. medium. USE/ADVANTAGE - For metallising nonwoven mats or needled felts and substrates of organic polymers, e.g. polyethylene, polypropylene or thermoplastic materials, polyamides, polyethers, polyurethanes, polystyrenes, polyimides, polyamide-imides, or inorganic materials, e.g. glass. It reduces health hazards and environmental pollution, is more economical and gives stable, durable prods.. The fibrbus materials have almost unchanged porosity after metallisation and the individual fibress are metallised well.
