PURPOSE:To rapidly produce musical sound free from unnaturality and noises and to stop the production by generating an envelope (EL) for forming a timbre at times exclusive of a fast dump (FD) time and generating and producing the EL of the inclina tion changing according to the value of the EL at the time of the FD. CONSTITUTION:Musical sound is produced by the envelope (EL) data generated by a means 20 for generating the data on the inclination of the 1st EL which forms the timbre of the musical sound at times exclusive of the fast dump (FD) time. The musical sound is produced by the EL data generated by a means 21 for generating the data on the inclination of the 2nd EL for rapid producing and stopping of the musical sound changing in inclination according to the EL data at the FD time. A means 22 for generating the data on the inclination of the 3rd E1 which computes the data on the inclination of the 1st and 2nd EL according to a sound production state and a means 23 for computing the EL data which computes the EL data in accordance with the data on the EL inclination of the means 22 are provided. The rapid attenuation of the EL, i.e. sound production and stop are executed in this way without generating the unnaturality of the timbre and noises. The immediate production of the next musical sound is thus possible.
