A bearing (10') is formed into a ring-shaped configuration in which a mounting portion (10b) and a bearing portion (10a) which supports a shaft (9, Fig. 2) define an L-shaped cross section. The center (C) of the bearing portion in the axial direction of the shaft is set at a position which is superimposed on or lies within the mounting portion in the axial direction. The bearing is manufactured first by subjecting a flat plate to burring work to form a ring-shaped bearing burr or blank (Fig. 3a) in which the mounting base portion (10b'') and the bearing portion (10a'') define an L-shaped configuration, and then subsequently compression-molding the bearing portion of the bearing blank (Fig. 3b) into prescribed dimensions in the axial direction. <IMAGE> |
