PURPOSE:To provide the title lubricant capable of markedly improving the yarn formability and high-speed passability of synthetic fiber in its ultra-high- speed production, consisting of an aqueous emulsion with the particle size not larger than a specified value, containing a specific smoothing agent and additive and a small amount of an emulsifier. CONSTITUTION:A composition made up of (A) as a smoothing agent, at least one compound selected from esters of polyhydric alcohol and monobasic aliphatic carboxylic acid and their alkylene oxide-added esterified products, (B) an additive (e.g. anionic antistatic agent) and (C) as an emulsifier, <10wt.% of an alkylene oxide adduct of a compound having at least one active hydrogen, is put to primary emulsification and then high-speed fluid flow atomization into an aqueous emulsion with excellent stability <=1mum in particle size, the objective lubricant. Using the present lubricant, a polyester fiber containing >=0.45wt.% of inorganic particles is treated, and, in the fiber production esp. at a winding speed of >=4500m/min and fiber processing of higher order, troubles due to polymer scum and inorganic particles falling off, etc., can be prevented. |
