A new polypeptide of mol.wt. 24,000 (aminoacid sequence of 212 units is given) is obtd. from DNA coding for it (also claimed). This DNA is inserted (opt. together with a signal sequence) into a suitable vector, and used to produce a transformant (e.g. of E. coli or Bacillus subtilis) which on culture expresses the polypeptide. Specifically claimed is bacillus subtilis IS182 transformant, Ferm BP-3025, which expresses the polypeptide.
