<p>A method for manufacturing a photoconverter comprises the steps of forming a sol by obtaining a mixture solution of a matrix compound capable of forming a sol-gel film containing a matrix substance component permeable to visible light and an acid chloride or nitrate containing luminous atoms, forming the sol into a coating over a substrate comprising a glass tube, and subjecting this coating to a reduction by means of a calcining to have the coating sintered to obtain the photoconverter. The method makes it possible to manufacture a photoconverter which is easy to use substantially to the same extent as a fluorescent substance and is capable of executing photoconversion at high efficiency. <IMAGE></p> |
