PURPOSE:To certainly purify air in a room at the finish time of automatic operation, by detecting the first smoking by an ultraviolet ray sensor to start automatic operation and resetting a timer when the second smoking is performed during this operation to continue the operation. CONSTITUTION:It is assumed that the first smoking is started in such a state that a user sets a mode setting switch to an automatic operation mode. The flame of an ignition lighter or match at the start time of smoking is instantaneously detected by an ultraviolet ray sensor 27 and the signal of said sensor 27 is transmitted to a control circuit 30 from a detection circuit 34. The control circuit 30 sets the time of a timer 38 and, at the same time, operates an electromotive blower 32 to start automatic operation. When the second smoking is started during this operation, this smoking is detected by the ultraviolet ray sensor 27 and the detection signal is transmitted to the control circuit 30 and a reset circuit 37 from the detection circuit 34. As a result, the blower 32 is operated for a new set time.
