PURPOSE:To facilitate data processing and to shorten the processing time by sectioning the crest value of the output signal of the scintillation camera into two areas and gathering data, and making scattered ray removal corrections at respective points of an image. CONSTITUTION:The output signal 4 of a gamma-ray detection part 3 is sent to a position calculating circuit 5 to calculate the XY coordinates of a gamma- ray incidence position. Two energy windows are set for the data gathering and the smoothing processes (F1 and F2) are performed by convolution arithmetic in this case. Then N1 and N2 which are found previously by the smoothing processes are used to calculate g11 and A1 and the g11A1N1 and N1 are used to calculate g11A1. In this case, statistical variation in g11A1 is controlled with only the N1 since the statistical variation of the N1 and N2 is small, so an increase in error is suppressed.
