<p>PURPOSE:To separate and remove a metal tube without damaging an inside cable core by treating a part or the whole of a plurality of longitudinal slits formed in the metal tube of a traveling cable body by means of a cutting edge. CONSTITUTION:By means of four slits 54a, 54b... formed in the main body part 5 thereof, a metal tube-treating mechanism 6 bisects a metal tube by pulling almost semicircular section parts 55, 55 in 180 deg. opposite directions F, F. Until the half-split semicircular section parts 55 reach the vicinity of a pull roller 57, the section parts change the shape into flat two-angle waveforms 60 by spreading round a bending slit 54b so that an accident, that the section part is bent and cut partially, can be prevented effectively. That is, the thickness dimension T of the flat two-angle waveform 60 is small so that the section part is flexible and causes no partial bending. Therefore, metal tubes 2 can be peeled continuously (without stop) from a long cable body 3 of about one hundred to several thousand meters.</p> |
