<p>PURPOSE:To heat a large number of billets at high operating efficiency by charging the billets into heating position at front of a billet heater in order to execute the step heating and carrying out the billet heated at the desired temp. from the heating position at rear part in order. CONSTITUTION:The electric conducting bar-like (n) pieces of the same billets are lined up in series to the billet heater composing of a cylindrical coil and induction-heated and carried out at the finish-heating temp. T. In the above heat-operating method, at first, the first billet is charged to the heating position at the front of charging side in the above billet heater to execute the step heating in the step temp. T/n. Successively, the second billet is charged to the above heating position at the front part and the above first billet is set at the rear part to execute the above step heating. The third and the next billets are succeedingly charged, and the step heating at (n) times is executed, respectively and the billet heated at the prescribed temp. is carried out in order. By this method, the inclining heating of high temp. at the front end and low temp. at rear end, is enabled and the operational efficiency can be improved by executing the continuous operation according to variation of the treated number of pieces.</p> |
