PURPOSE:To make a possibility that a main object is always selected regardless of an AF mode high by providing a condition changing circuit which changes condition processing in an area selection circuit according a set mode. CONSTITUTION:Sensor consisting of eight sensor trains SNS-1a, SNS-1b to SNS-4a and SNS-4b which are four pairs is arranged so as to receive the image corresponding to each secondary image-formation lens AFL. Since the relative position displacing quantity of the object image formed on the respective sensor train pairs has specified function relation to the defocusing quantity of a photographing lens, the defocusing quantity is detected by the respective sensor train pairs by respectively performing proper arithmetic operation to the output of the sensor. Thus, a selection method for plural object area is switched according to the automatic focusing(AF) mode of the camera, thereby performing automatic focusing in which the possibility that the main object is always selected is made high. |
