The method is applied in optics. It reduces the number of regulating operations and drops the need for periodic control. The method: at a certain distance in front of the incoming light diameter of the lens system (1), which is subject to orientation is placed an exemplary scale (3) with an access field (10) of the linear augmentation so that its geometric centre lies on the optical axis, where sits the geometric center of a second scale (2), situated behind the inverting system (1). Through axial displacement of a strong optical element, the linear augmentation in the access field (10) is regulated, after which the optical elements (1 and 2) are fixated. The scale (2), located after the system (1) following the path of rays, is its own scale. The strength optical element is the entire inverting system (1), whose axial displacement precedes the axial displacement of the exemplary scale (3) until receipt of its clearest image onto the scale (2) of the inverting system (1).
