The adjustable chair bed comprises a framework (1) supporting a frame (3) designed to hold the top mattress. A head part (18) is mounted for movement on the back part (4) which supports the upper body, so that during upward movement of the back part (4) the head part (18) is raised by a predetermined swivel angle from the back part in order to support the head of the lying or sitting person during the movement. The head part (18) can be mounted by its inner end section on the back part (4) to swivel about an axis (B) running across the longitudinal axis of the bed. ADVANTAGE - A coupled movement between the back part and head part for greater operating comfort by the user.
