PURPOSE: To prevent impact load causing noise from occurring on a vane and to prevent mechanical stress showing a maximum value at both ends of the vane from exceeding a defined upper limit, by exchanging ranges including a limiting value of a sine curve by a parabola division, and determining them so that they have same size at each transferring point. CONSTITUTION: In a vane pump in a formation that a sine curve draws distance progressing line of a curve for the center of a rotor, ranges including a limiting value of the sine curve S are exchanged by a parabola division P. The sine curve S and its parabola division P are determined so that the first derived function R'(ϕ) and the second derived function R"(ϕ) are in equal size respectively substantially at each of transferring points a-f between a circular arc K and the sine curve S, the sine curve S and the parabola P, the parabola P and the sine curve S, and the sine curve S and circular arc K.
