PURPOSE:To quicken the decision of a driver by providing a displaying form selecting means to select the displaying form of a road according to the instruction of the driver in the case a road map, a vehicle position, and a recommended route are displayed on a picture. CONSTITUTION:An initializing means C inputs a destination and a route calculating condition the driver desires, and a route calculating means D reads out the road map data of a range including the place where the vehicle is at present and the destination from a map storage means 1, and the recommended route based on this road map data and the set route calculating condition is calculated. Besides, a storage means E stores the recommended route. Then, a route guiding means F converts the road map data into map display data, and simultaneously, it superimposes the recommended route on the map display data, and displays the road map, the vehicle position, and the recommended route on the picture. The displaying form selecting means G selects the displaying form of the road according to the instruction of the driver when the road map, the vehicle position, and the recommended route are displayed on the picture. Thus, since the displaying form of the road can be selected when the road map is displayed on the picture, it becomes possible to guide the driver exactly. |
