PURPOSE:To obtain a printing image excellent in heat resistance and chemical resistance by adding a thermoplastic resin having specific glass transition temp. to one of a plurality of transfer layers as a main component. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal transfer recording medium having a plurality of transfer layers 4 on its support 5, one layer 2 among the transfer layers 4 contains a thermoplastic resin having glass transition temp. of 120 deg.C or higher as a main component. As the support, any one of plain paper, a film-like article formed by applying a metal to a resin sheet by vapor deposition or the like is pref. used. The thickness of the support is usually 30 mum or less, pref., 2 - 12 mum. When the thickness of the support is 30 mum or less, the sensitivity to heat and printing quality become well. As an embodiment of the thermo plastic resin, cellulose tributyrate (Tg ; 120 deg.C) can be designated. |
