The subject of the present invention is a floating assistance device for a sub-aqua diver. The device comprises a flat unsinkable hull, which is in the shape of a board, is hydrodynamic and is pointed in the direction of movement, allowing the said diver to lie (stretch out) partly on top by resting thereon, for example, his torso and to go to his dive site and return therefrom by propelling himself with his legs remaining in the water. The said board has an overall length equal to half the height of the said diver (2), a width greater than his shoulders, a displacement (flotation volume) making it possible at least to support the equipment (12) used by the said diver and the weight of the part of his body which is out of the water. <IMAGE>
