The present invention relates to a variable inductor. The variable inductor is provided with an input electrode and with an output electrode, comprises an inductive section one end of which is connected to the input electrode, electrically conducting movable equipment provided with a movable contact establishing a connection with the inductive section and provided with means for connecting to the output electrode, and is characterised in that the movable contact is arranged in proximity to the inductive section, the connection between these two latter elements being established by means of an electric arc.
