This device comprises two fixation elements (4) which each consist of a hook (4) which is designed to be able to cover a rigid transverse bar (3) in a sliding manner, equipped with means (9, 8) for blocking on the bar (3); this hook is formed by a body (5) and two blades (6) separated by a gap (d) of a width corresponding to that of the bar (3), and a bearing surface (7) of the hook on the bar is formed on the body (5) between the blades (6), these blades extending on each side of the bar when the hook straddles the latter. Two hooks (4), combined with a rectangular bar (3), form a relatively simple transverse connection device which can be put into place quickly and which exhibits a substantial rigidity in terms of torsion and flexion. <IMAGE>
