<p>PURPOSE: To automatically save power by deciding whether or not a CPU can be suspended based on a CPU activity level and starting a hardware selector based on the decision. CONSTITUTION: The hardware selector is instructed to make at least one CPU sleep, whether or not interruption is generated is decided, the CPU keeps sleeping until the interruption is generated repeatedly when the interruption is not generated and the hardware selector is instructed to wake up at least one CPU when the interruption is generated. Then, a preserved value equal to a prescribed current clock rate is retrieved, the current clock rate is set to be equal to the retrieved value and control is returned to an operating system. Thus, the power is automatically saved.</p> |
