The invention relates to a process for the production of pictures made using textile fibres in a rational manner of mass production. Layers of a multiple length of a section of fibre are formed in each case using the fibres of a line in the picture image 10, 11. The various layers of fibres 50 are laid one upon the other, bonded together and then cut into slices perpendicular to the direction of the fibres to form divisions of the picture which are bonded to a protective plate 2 and surrounded with a moulding.
