Suspended travelling bridge-maintenance chassis - has platform slewing on crab travelling in central gap in road surface

The travelling suspended chassis is for maintenance work on the underside of a bridge having a lengthwise gap in the centre of the road surface. A crab travelling in the lengthwise direction is supported by this surface, a working platform being suspended from it. The crab (2) runs above the gap (4), the platform (3) being centrally suspended (6) from it via the gap, and slewing on it. The crab can comprise a truck on two or more axles, with guide rollers on vertical axes on the axles and working against the edges of the gap. USE/ADVANTAGE - Suspended platform for work on underside of bridge. The platform merely has to be slewed through 90 deg to pass any pillars, no dismantling being necessary.
