The quick-action internal work-clamping mandrel has a clamping bush sliding in the axial direction. The basic cylindrical mandrel (10) has a clamping cone (11) at one end. A bush (14) with clamping cone (15) slides on the mandrel. There can be axial slots in the latter cone, and extending for only part of its length, so as to leave a closed ring. There can be a slotted cylindrical mounting (21) on the bush where the cone joins onto it.
