The thrust generator consists of two weights (4) attached to opposite ends of a rotating arm (5). The arm is rotated by means of a shaft (7) which has a diametral hole which forms a guide for the arm. As the shaft (7) is rotated one of the weights moves radially outwards under the influence of centrifugal force whilst the radially inward movement of the other weight is limited by a curved stationary guide rail (2). Two such rotating arms are mounted side by side and rotate about a common axis but in opposite directions. These is thus a resultant force in the direction X and the lateral force exerted by one arm is cancelled by an opposite lateral force exerted by the other arm.
