The equipment protects mountings for tools in a machine-tool magazine. It comprises a plug (15) of elastic and preferably spongy material inserted in the mounting (8), to prevent penetration by swarf, oil etc. A protruding boss (16) is fixed to the plug at one end. The plug dia. can be larger than the ID of the mounting, and the boss can be fixed to its end face via a supporting disc in between them, to prevent distortion of the plug end. USE/ADVANTAGE - Avoids need for wiping out of machine-tool magazine.s
