The device has an impact roller mounted in a displaceable swing bar inside an inlet box which has a grading grid in the inlet area. The inlet box (2) is set up inclined relative to the vertical and the grading grid (7) can be adjusted in position relative to the inlet box. Beneath the grading grid at a distance therefrom there is pref. a by pass chute (14) for the fine material falling directly through the grid (7).
