Prodn. of environmentally friendly coal comprises mixing presorted refined refuse (the soft residual refuse remaining after sorting off the heavy fraction of refuse) with coal to . yield a low sulphur fuel. USE/ADVANTAGE - Process disposes of the soft fraction of refuse and allows coal to be burned with reduced SO2 emission.
