PURPOSE:To obtain an FRP structural body capable of absorbing the impactive compressive force by forming a plurality of projections so that one cylindrical body is allowed to abut against the engaged tip part of the cylindrical body of an opposite side and continuously destroyed or successively destroyed when one cylindrical body is slid on the other cylindrical body in an engaged state. CONSTITUTION:When an FRP structural body is compressed to the lengthwise direction, firstly the weakest part 3 is destroyed. Then a small diameter part 2 is passed into a large diameter part 1. In this case, the tip part of the small diameter part 2 is allowed to collide against a first projection 4 positioned in the inner circumferential face of the large diameter part 1. The sudden reduction of load after destruction of the weakest part 3 is stopped. Furthermore when compressive load is added, the first projection 4 is destroyed and the tip part of a small diameter part 2 is allowed to collide with a second projection 4. The rate of absorption for energy can be made large by continuously generating destruction. Further the compressive load in the case when the projection 4 is destroyed can be controlled according to requirement by changing the shape of the projection 4 and the properties of materials. |
