PURPOSE:To obtain a microminiature optical switch by fixing one end of a bending displacement type piezoelectric actuator and providing a reflecting mirror on the other end, and changing an optical path of light to the reflecting mirror by the bending displacement. CONSTITUTION:One end of a bending displacement type piezoelectric actuator 12 is fixed to a fixed wall 14, and a reflecting mirror 16 is formed on the other end. The actuator 12 consists of piezoelectric elements 12a, 12b of two layers by setting the boundary surface 18 extending in the longitudinal direction as a boundary, and is provided so that the polarization directions become opposite mutually. In a slightly deviating position of the lower part of the reflecting mirror 16, an input optical fiber 26, and an output optical fiber 28 opposed thereto are placed, and toward the inside of the upper part of the optical fiber 26, an output optical fiber 30 is placed. According to this constitution, when an inter-electrode voltage is '0', an emitted light of the optical fiber 25 reaches the optical fiber 28, and when the voltage is applied between the electrodes, the reflecting mirror 16 descends to the lower part, and light is emitted from a second optical fiber 30. |
