A heat roll fixing unit, adapted to be positioned in an electrophotographic printer for forming an image on a continuous sheet (20) comprises a pair of rollers (11, 12) arranged to be brought into and out of contact with each other for pressurizing the continuous sheet (20) to fix the image thereon. One of the pair of rollers is a heat roller (11) with a heating member (11A). The heat roll fixing unit further comprises a sheet separation mechanism (15, 16, 17A) located at the downstream side of the pair of rollers and arranged to be operable in case that the pair of rollers (11, 12) are brought out of contact with each other for separating the continuous sheet (20) from the heat roller (11). Thus, the continuous sheet (20) can be prevented from being caught around the roller (12) after the fixing operation at the heat roll fixing unit and it becomes possible to avoid jam of the continuous sheet (20). <IMAGE> |
