PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of this device by detecting a temperature in the vicinity of constituting member of the fixing device or the device, and varying a temperature control temperature in accordance with its detected temperature. CONSTITUTION:A transfer material sheet P carried to the fixing device 11 from a transfer part 9 side is guided by a guide 29 and goes in between the fixing sheet 25 of a press-contacting part N of a heating body 20 subjected to temperature control and a pressure roller 28, the toner image surface is adhered tightly to the lower face of a fixing film 25 and the sheet P passes through the fixing nip part N. A heating unit 23 of width W is present in the width area of the nip part N. A toner image receives the heat of the heating unit 23 and is adhered to the sheet P surface. On the other hand, a temperature detecting unit 31 detects the temperature of the fixing film 25 immediately before going into the press-contacting part N, and switches the temperature control temperature of a heating body temperature control system in accordance with its detected temperature. |
