PURPOSE:To offer the mail service of image data and voice data by one device by storing the image data and voice data together by utilizing an operator call function. CONSTITUTION:If an operator call is requested from an opposite device 16 or by the multi-media mail device 10 itself while the image data is received, or if the multi-media mail device 10 requests the operator call during image transmission, the transmission or reception of the image data is interrupted and a line is so switched that the voice data can be received. The received voice data is mixed with the image data by the data mixing means 14 of firmware 13 and stored in a mail box 12 together with an added header. Further, the transmitting means 15 reads the mixed data out of the mail box 12 and sends it by discriminating the header. Consequently, the mail service wherein the two kinds of information data are mixed can be offered.
