PURPOSE:To accurately transfer a desired image to various surfaces by bonding heat-meltable ink to a transfer film to form a reversal image reversed left and right with respect to the desired image thereto by a thermal transfer printer and transferring the ink bonded surface of the transfer film to a surface to be transferred. CONSTITUTION:Heat-meltable ink is bonded to a transfer film 3 to form a reversal image reversed left and right with respect to a desired image thereto using a dot matrix type thermal printer having a line thermal head 1. An ink film 2 and the transfer film 3 are set to the thermal printer so that the surface coated with the heat-meltable ink of the ink film 2 is closely brought into contact with the film 3. The thermal printer is operated to bond the heat-meltable ink to the transfer film 3 in the shape of the reversal image. The surface to which the heat-meltable ink bonded is closely brought into contact with a surface 4 to be transferred. The surface to be printed may be, for example, cardboard, a note or book incapable of being set to the thermal printer. A heater 5 is pressed to the transfer film 3 and the range corresponding to an image is heated while the heater 5 is moved in a pressed state. |
