PURPOSE:To improve the strength and ductility of wire material by taking the minor axis to major axis ratio as a specified value in the process where the shape of cross section is deformed into rhombus in the process of wire material rolling from a continuously cast billet. CONSTITUTION:In a process where the shape of cross section during the rolling of wire material is deformed into a rhombus in the rolling process where the wire material of round bar or square bar is manufactured from the continuously cast billet, at least one pass is constituted so that the ratio of the minor axis to the major axis of rhombus is made into 4-8. In this way, the round bar and square bar whose solidification shrinkage holes are enoughly pressing contacted by small draft rolling and which is excellent in strength and ductility can be manufactured and the miniaturization of equipment and simplification of process can be realized. |
