PURPOSE:To perform a color printing by a method wherein two or more flow paths for supplying colorants to a main agent supply flow path and a colorant supply means for controlling the supply of the colorants are provided, and the colorants to be supplied to the main agent supply flow path are compounded in a main agent singly or in a mixed state. CONSTITUTION:A heater 17 is provided around a colorant and main agent tank 6, supply tubes 4, 5, and a main agent supply flow path 15. The waxes contained in a main agent and colorants are melted by being heated by the heater 17 to have a flowabiliby. In this manner, with the application of a pulse voltage to a colorant supply piezoelectric element 2, the colorant is supplied to the main agent supply flow path 15 by an amount in accordance with the pulse width. With the succeeding application of a voltage to a main agent jet piezoelectric element 3, the colorant supplied to the main agent supply flow path is jetted out of a delivery port 10 together with the main agent as an ink drop 8 to be recorded on recording paper 9. For example, at colorant supply ports containing Yellow, Magenta, Cyan, and Black pigments, the respective colorants supplied therefrom are charged in colorant pressure chambers 13a-13d provided with colorant supply piezoelectric elements 2a-2d. |
