PURPOSE:To obtain a high-quality color image by incorporating a small amt. of specified hydroquinone compd. as a color fog inhibitor in the hydrophilic layer of a silver halide color photographic sensitive material, especially, a nonphotosensitive protective layer, a layer contg. dye image, and an interlayer. CONSTITUTION:A color image high in image quality prevented from color fog and stains is obtained by incorporating in the hydrophilic layer of the silver halide color photographic sensitive material a small amt. of compd. represented by formula 1 in which E is alkyl having one or more halogen atoms at the alpha- or beta-position, a group represented by formula 2 or 3, -SO2R12; A1, A2 are each acyl, NO2, or CN; R1-R4 are each aryl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkenyl, or halogen; R12 is an electron attractive group selected from aryl groups; B is halogen alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, carbamoyl, amide, or the like; X1, X2 are each H or a protective group releasable in an alkaline condition; m is 1-4; and n is 0-3, and the total carbon number of (E)m and (B)n is >=12, and (m+n) are 1-4. |
