PURPOSE:To improve the performance of a fast breeder by arranging a couple of flexible ultrasonic waveguide bodies which are welded to the internal pipe at opposite positions of the double tube of the monitor device for the gas staying in the internal pipe of the double pipe, and fitting an ultrasonic wave sensor for transmission to one waveguide body and an ultrasonic wave sensor for reception to the other. CONSTITUTION:The double pipe 1 consists of the internal pipe 2 which contains liquid 3, an external pipe 5 which surrounds it, a heat exchanger 6 fitted to the lower end of the double pipe 1, a bellows 9 positioned on the side of a pressure container 20, a waveguide body 12 for transmission consisting of a couple of waveguide bodies 12-a and 12-b, the ultrasonic wave sensors 10a and 10b for transmission which are provided at the tip part of the waveguide 12 penetrating the external pipe 5, a waveguide body 13 for reception consisting of a couple of similar waveguide bodies 13-a and 13-b facing them, and the ultrasonic wave reception sensors 11-a and 11-b fitted at the tip part. Then, the sensors 10 and 11 detect the presence of the gas 7 staying in the internal pipe 2 by using an ultrasonic wave 17 which is propagated in the waveguide body 12 to detect the gas containing liquid Na. |
