<p>PURPOSE:To perform the tracking control of high precision with simple circuit constitution by controlling the feeding speed of a magnetic tape based on tracking error data detected from first and second tracking pilot data. CONSTITUTION:An envelope EATF corresponding to tracking pilot signals P1 and P2 is detected from a regenerative signal SPBO regenerated by magnetic heads 22A and 22B. Tracking error data DTTE1 is detected from the first and the second tracking pilot data DTP1 and DTP2 obtained by sampling the envelope signal EATF by a sampling pulse SP, and the feeding speed of a magnetic tape 23 is controlled based on this tracking error data DTTE1. Thus, the tracking control of magnetic heads 22A and 22B is performed with the high precision in the simple circuit constitution.</p> |
