PURPOSE:To especially provide protein yarn with excellent antimicrobial and deodorizing effects by immersing protein yarn in an aqueous solution containing water-soluble mercapto compound and chelating agent in a specific pH range and then in an acidic aqueous solution containing ion of copper, zinc, etc. CONSTITUTION:Protein yarn such as wool, silk, feather, etc., is immersed in an aqueous solution containing a water-soluble mercapto compound (e.g. thioglycolic acid) and a chelating agent (e.g. EDTA) at pH1-9, then in an aqueous solution containing an ion of copper, zinc or tin such as copper sulfate pentahydrate, zinc chloride, stannous chloride at pH1-9 and provided with 0.5-50mg/g of the ion of copper, zinc or tin alone or in total to supply especially protein yarn with antimicrobial and deodorizing effects of excellent durability. The protein yarn is suitable for socks, pantystocking, underwear, etc. |
