The invention relates to apparatuses for the local treatment of chronic pain of muscular or articular origin, comprising a central control unit and a terminal unit which is to be applied on the zone to be treated, the two units being connected to each other via a flexible and insulating connection cable. According to the invention, the apparatus of the type in question uses a terminal unit which comprises a series of suction cups (4), of elongate form with a cylindrical fraction, which are placed alongside one another and are connected to each other mechanically, via a flexible wall (5) which is able to match the shape of the region to be treated, and are each connected pneumatically to a suction tube (6) which is itself connected to the central unit (2). <IMAGE>
