PURPOSE: To easily remove a cooling liquid from a cooled film at a high film speed by holding an acidity of the liquid in a pH value between 6 and 3. CONSTITUTION: Cooling liquid 19 is given to both surfaces of a heated polyethylene terephthalate film 18. After a temperature of the film 18 is sufficiently lowered, the liquid 19 is removed from the film 18 to cool the heated film 18. In this case, an acidity of the film 19 is held in a pH value between 6 and 3.
