PURPOSE:To obtain the title compsn. giving a molded article excellent in the flame retardance, heat resistance, mechanical properties, and appearance by melt mixing a liq. crystal polyester, a high-molecular flame retardant, and a filler in a specified ratio under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:In producing the title compsn. comprising 100 pts.wt. liq. crystal polyester (e.g. a compd. of the formula wherein k/l/m/n=75/10/15/25), 0.2-30 pts.wt. high-molecular weight flame retardant (e.g. a brominated polystyrene), and 5-200 pts.wt. filler (e.g. a glass fiber), the polyester is melt mixed first with the retardant first and then with the filler, or vice versa. |
