The invention relates to a device for dismantleably joining a handle to a tool and more particularly, but not exclusively, to a device for dismantleably joining a handle to a file for surgical use. It is characterised in that it comprises at least one lever (13) for operating the push member (11), which lever, on the one hand, interacts with this push member (11) via at least one stop (14, 15) formed on the latter and, on the other hand, is articulated to those components which carry the push member (1) via a means (16) provided for this purpose, this articulation being between at least two positions termed actuating positions, in at least one of which it determines, at least indirectly, one of the useful positions of the push member (12), these actuating positions of the lever (13) being, precisely, one in which the lever (13) extends substantially parallel to and against the body (2a) of the piece (2) to which it is articulated and the other, one in which it forms a certain angle with the body (2a) of the said piece (2). <IMAGE>
