PURPOSE:To eliminate meaningless variation in transmission gear ratio by calculating false rotating speeds of a secondary pulley from TCS (traction control system) driving signals and false car-speed signals, and outputting the signals in preference to secondary pulley rotating speed signals. CONSTITUTION:During normal travel of a vehicle, a continuous variable transmis sion is controlled to an optimum transmission gear ratio in response to variable speed control signals from a control unit 96. At this time, when the brake is applied or the wheels slip, TCS control unit 70 performs traction control to output TCS driving signals, calculates false secondary pulley rotating speeds from false car-speed signals by a calculation unit 111, and outputs the rotating speeds in preference to secondary pulley rotating speed signals from a rotating speed sensor 92 by an output switching unit 112. Normal variable speed control is thus temporarily reserved, a control unit 90 performs variable speed control in response to false car-speeds, meaningless variation in transmission gear ratio is thus eliminated, and durability can be improved. |
