摘要 PURPOSE:To preferentially execute the photometry of a principal object and to reduce an effect caused by a substance other than the principal object by using information related to a distance and selecting a brightness output used for computing exposure among the outputs of a photoelectric conversion elements for range-finding which are also used for photometry. CONSTITUTION:An output from a photoelectric conversion element string group 3 is generated as a focus detection output in a focus detection circuit 4 and sent to a lens driving means 5 as the information of a focusing position. A brightness arithmetic operation means 11 calculates a brightness value based on a photoelectric conversion output and generates the output of the correspond ing brightness value. A selection means 12 selects and extracts the output of the brightness value among the plural outputs of the brightness values outputted from the means 11 based on the respective outputs of a distance information output means 6, a photograhing scene set means 7 and a posture detection means 10 and inputs it to an exposure arithmetic means 13. Thus, the arithmetic operation of the exposure that a proper exposure value is calculated is realized without receiving the effect of the size of a part projecting from the principal object.
