PURPOSE:To recover the imperfect discharge of an ink jet head and make it possible to commence a recording action immediately after the mounting of the ink jet head to a recording device by providing a member for the recovery of an imperfect discharge of ink from the discharge aperture of the ink jet head, in a storage container. CONSTITUTION:A new ink jet head 4 is contained in a storage container 1 and an area near the upper center of a lid 3 is pressed by the finger. Then the lid 3 is bent and the lib 5B of an elastic member 5 and a sealing part 5A come in contact with the upper surface of the ink jet head 4 to cause an elastic deformation. If the sealing part 5A encircles an area around a ventilating hole 4D in a hermetically sealed state to cause elastic deformation, the air finds its way into an ink tank 4B after passing through the ventilating hole 4D as there is no air escape in the sealing part 5A. Subsequently, the ink liquid reaches a discharge aperture 4A from a filter 4C through a communication hole 4F as a pressure in the ink tank 4B increases. Thus a solidified ink sticking to the discharge hole 4A is discharged to an area outside a device. |
